Difference between a ship and a boat
In the Swedish Martime Law the definition for a ships is a vessel that are at least 12 meters long and have a witdh of at least 4 meters. Smaller vessels are called boats.
The Swedish Navy uses the term ship instead of boat only if it has a dtanding enlisted crew and a commanding officer (Fartygschef). Boats have a Skipper (Båtchef) in charge.
