Andy McNab

Andy McNab blev känd för den breda allmänheten när han 1993 skrev boken "Bravo Two Zero"/ "Bravo Två Noll" om sina upplevelser som tillfångatagen SAS gruppchef under Gulfkriget I. I gruppen fanns även Chris Ryan som senare också kom att skriva en bok om sina upplevelser under samma uppdrag i boken "Den ende som kom undan".

Andy tog värvning i det brittiska infanteriet vid en ålder av 16 år, 1984 antogs han vid specialstyrkan SAS (Special Air Service) där han tjänstgjorde fram till 1993. Numera försörjer han sig, med stor framgång, på att skriva böcker, dessutom håller han säkerhetsföredrag för både brittiska och amerikanska säkerhets-och underrättlse-tjänsten.

De två första böckerna är sanna och den senaste Seven Troop, men de övriga är påhittade historier, men bygger givetvis på hans kunskaper inom ämnet. Man märker klart att han kan sin sak, detaljerna är många och välbeskrivna och man kan inhämta mycket kunskap och tips från de fiktiva böckerna också. Ger en annan mer brutal bild av Gulfkriget än den genom siktet på en laserguidad bomb.

I Panama tvingas Nick att smyga runt i regnskogen med ett minimum av utrustning i jeans bland horder av insekter och ba guys. Som vanligt är uppdragsgivarna extra tarvliga mot Nick, men det är bara att bita ihop.

Mycket detaljrikt beskrivet; behovet av vatten, mat, kissandet, insekterna, smärtan, vapenhanteringen, apteringen av tänd och sprängmedel, mm. Orealistiskt mycket action, men det är en novell. Spännande och intensiv mot slutet. Helt Ok.
